Geomembrane Lined Pond

Recently textile based geomembranes are developed that have superior properties than HDPE sheets in terms of thickness, puncture resistance, life and economy. These can be used as an effective barrier for avoiding the water seepage through various structures. A geomembrane lined pond can be built of any size to store water. As shown in photograph a tank of size 5 x 3 x 1 m is excavated. All sides are smoothened and geomembrane lining is laid so that proper shaped tank is developed. To protect the geomembrane sheet from sunlight, pond is covered with suitable cover by rice husk or dry grass.
